Iranian Bollywood actress Mandana Karimi announces leaving India after 16 years

Mumbai (nytoday) Iranian actress Mandana Karimi, who rose to fame from the Indian reality show Bigg Boss Season 9, has announced that she will leave India after 16 years. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the Bollywood actress left Iran at the age of 18 and came to India to pursue acting, but now, following the recent US-Iran conflict and the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, the actress has decided to leave India. During a recent Q&A session on Instagram Story, a fan asked the actress about leaving Mumbai, to which Mandana replied, “I never thought I would say goodbye to India like this.” The actress continued, “It will definitely be difficult, but after spending almost 16 years in India, I am finally leaving my second home (India). Now everything will be new, it is a new beginning.” Mandana Karimi did not clarify where she is going after leaving India. According to Hindustan Times, in March, Mandana Karimi had given a statement in which she said that she was banned from Iran 10 years ago, so she cannot go back there, she is disappointed with India.

According to Mandana, I did not get any support in India and suddenly when Ayatollah Khamenei passed away, everyone in India has an opinion, everyone is on the streets and they can actually mourn Khamenei, which I could not do. The actress said that due to security reasons I am stuck in one place and none of my closest friends have my address, and yet I am trying to talk to the media to raise the voice of Iranians. Mandana Karimi said that I have not been acting in films for the last 6 years, it was my decision to stop working in films, I know what is happening in my country (Iran), I was born and raised there, I was living in Iran for 18 years.
