Afghanistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rehmanullah Gurbaz has announced that he will not participate in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, citing personal commitments following the World Cup.

In a statement, Gurbaz explained that he plans to return to Afghanistan after the international tournament to complete pending welfare and personal projects. He said he will not be available for PSL 11 as he intends to focus on unfinished work in his home country.

The development comes shortly after Peshawar Zalmi confirmed that Gurbaz had been directly signed for the new season. Just two days ago, franchise owner Javed Afridi welcomed the Afghan cricketer to the “Zalmi family” in a social media post, expressing excitement over his inclusion in the squad.

Gurbaz is known for his aggressive batting at the top of the order and his skills as a wicketkeeper. He has previously featured in the Pakistan Super League and represented Islamabad United as well as Multan Sultans in earlier editions of the tournament. His absence will be a setback for Peshawar Zalmi, who were hoping to strengthen their top order with his explosive style of play.

Despite stepping away from PSL 11, Gurbaz reaffirmed his commitment to cricket and said he hopes to return to league action in the future after fulfilling his responsibilities at home.
