Washington (NYTODAY): US President Donald Trump has once again warned India that Washington could impose additional trade sanctions, including higher tariffs, if New Delhi fails to cooperate with the United States on the issue of Russian oil.

According to international news agency Reuters, President Trump stated during a speech that the US is closely monitoring India’s stance and actions regarding the purchase of Russian oil. He cautioned that a lack of cooperation could prompt Washington to consider punitive trade measures, particularly an increase in tariffs on Indian goods.

The warning comes at a sensitive time, as trade negotiations between the United States and India are currently underway, with both sides seeking to expand and strengthen economic ties.
