Punjab’s move towards a unified, cashless public transport system has gained strong public response, with more than 130,000 applications received for the T-Cash card from across the province. The smart card will allow passengers to travel conveniently on Metro Bus, Orange Line, Speedo Bus, and E-Bus services using a single payment solution.

According to Punjab Transport Company CEO Kausar Khan, over 66,000 citizens have already been issued T-Cash cards, marking a significant milestone in the province’s digital transport initiative. He stated that the card is designed to make commuting easier, safer, and faster by eliminating the need for cash transactions and reducing waiting times at ticket counters.

Beyond transport, the T-Cash card will also function as a debit card for everyday financial transactions, expanding its usefulness for citizens. Issued in compliance with State Bank of Pakistan regulations, the card ensures secure payments and aligns with national financial standards.

Officials added that the project aims to improve transparency, enhance passenger convenience, and promote digital inclusion across Punjab. By integrating multiple transport networks into a single system, the government hopes to streamline operations and provide a consistent travel experience.

Citizens can apply for the T-Cash card through the official web portal, the e-Transit mobile application, or by contacting the dedicated helpline. Authorities expect the number of applications to rise further as awareness increases and more transport routes are integrated into the system.
