Tel Aviv/Tehran (NYTODAY) – A technical malfunction in the Israeli military’s communications network has sparked serious security concerns, with fears emerging that sensitive information may have been exposed.

According to media reports, Iranian outlets have claimed that critical vulnerabilities have been identified within the Israeli army’s communication system. These alleged flaws have raised alarm over potential disruptions in strategic military coordination and operational planning.

The reports suggest that certain expert groups in the communications sector may have gained access to secure communication codes used by the Israeli military. This access was reportedly made possible after obtaining detailed information about the hardware and companies involved in maintaining the system.

Sources indicate that the Israeli army relies on telecommunications equipment sourced from European manufacturers. Its internal communications—including remote wireless operations and command-and-control networks—are said to operate through a secure internet-based telephone system. However, once details of this infrastructure were allegedly exposed, encryption codes may also have been compromised.

As a result, analysts warn that sensitive military communications could now be at risk of interception or monitoring, at least to some extent.

In response, the Israeli military has acknowledged awareness of the reported breach and is said to be evaluating the introduction of a new communication system. However, cybersecurity experts caution that replacing such a complex infrastructure is a challenging and time-consuming process, unlikely to be completed quickly.
