The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has formally initiated the tendering process for the construction of a proposed international-standard cricket stadium near Sector D-12 in Islamabad. The move marks a significant step toward strengthening the capital’s sports infrastructure.
According to an official tender notice, the CDA’s Procurement and Contract Wing has invited online bids through the government’s e-procurement system. Construction firms registered under Category C-A with the Pakistan Engineering Council and in good standing are eligible to participate in the bidding process.

The project will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model. In line with Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules, the bidding process will follow a two-stage, two-envelope procedure. The CDA stated that comprehensive project documents, including technical specifications, eligibility requirements, and relevant regulations, are available on the EPADS and PPRA portals for registered bidders.
Interested companies are required to submit their electronic bids via EPADS by 11:30 AM on February 16, 2026. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security of Rs120 million in the form of a pay order or call deposit receipt (CDR) issued in favor of DDO Procurement and Contract, CDA. The authority has clearly stated that manual or paper-based submissions will not be accepted.

The tender notice further noted that all electronic bids will be opened on the same day at 12:00 noon at the CDA Secretariat in Sector G-7/4, Islamabad, in the presence of the CDA Procurement Committee and authorized representatives of the participating firms.
The development of a new cricket stadium in Islamabad is being regarded as a major milestone in enhancing sports facilities in the capital. Officials believe the project will significantly boost the city’s capacity to host national and international cricket events, contributing to the promotion of sports and healthy activities across the region.
