Lahore (NYTODAY) – Police in Lahore have arrested three suspects allegedly involved in the assault of two girls after luring them on the false promise of arranging transport.
According to the spokesperson for DIG Operations, the arrests were made during a major operation carried out by the Sundar Police Station. The suspects, identified as Ghulam Mohiuddin alias Ali, Nasir alias Mandi, and Ibrahim alias Malangi, were traced and detained after extensive raids in different areas.
Police said the case was registered under FIR No. 1537/26 following a complaint filed by the father of the victims. Initial investigations revealed that the accused allegedly deceived the girls by offering to help them get a rickshaw. The suspects later abandoned the victims on the roadside and escaped from the scene.
Authorities stated that the accused had gone into hiding after the incident, making it difficult for investigators to locate them. However, police used modern investigative techniques and intelligence-based operations to track down the suspects successfully.
The DIG Operations spokesperson confirmed that further investigation is underway and more important details are expected to emerge during questioning. Police officials also assured that strict legal action will be taken against those found guilty in accordance with the law.
