Senior Israeli officials have claimed that the body of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been found following a large-scale military operation. According to Israeli media reports, Khamenei was reportedly inside an underground bunker with close associates when the attack occurred, resulting in his death along with dozens of others. The reports allege that approximately 30 bombs were dropped on the compound, causing widespread destruction.
Israeli sources further claimed that an image of Khamenei’s body was allegedly shown to Donald Trump. British media outlets have also circulated similar reports citing Israeli officials; however, none of these claims have been independently verified, raising questions about their accuracy.
In a video statement, Benjamin Netanyahu said there were indications that Iran’s Supreme Leader might no longer be alive. However, he acknowledged that there was no official confirmation of Khamenei’s death. Netanyahu also stated that several senior figures, including commanders from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and key nuclear officials, were reportedly killed in the operation. He added that the compound linked to Khamenei had been destroyed and warned that military actions against Iran could continue, with thousands of additional targets potentially at risk.
In contrast, Iranian authorities have strongly rejected these claims, insisting that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is alive, safe, and in good health. Officials described the reports as misinformation and part of ongoing psychological warfare amid escalating tensions in the region.
The developments follow recent coordinated air and naval strikes reportedly carried out by the United States and Israel. Iranian media stated that at least 201 people were killed and 747 injured in the attacks. Some unconfirmed reports also suggested that key military figures, including Defence Minister Amir Nasserzadeh and Revolutionary Guard commander Mohammad Pakpour, were among those killed.
Additional reports indicated that missiles had landed near critical government locations, including the presidential palace and areas associated with the Supreme Leader. Despite these claims, Iranian officials confirmed that President Masoud Pezeshkian and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei remain unharmed.
As conflicting narratives continue to emerge, the situation remains highly uncertain. International observers are closely monitoring developments, as any confirmed change in Iran’s leadership could have profound implications for regional stability and global geopolitics.
