An official statement issued on Monday said that the sanctions will freeze the assets of the relevant individuals and entities, while some individuals will also be subject to travel restrictions. In addition, some individuals will also be prevented from serving as directors of companies.
According to British officials, the aim of these measures is to protect national security and discourage activities that could pose a threat to the country’s internal or external security.
