Washington (NYTODAY) — Former US President Donald Trump has sparked widespread attention after sharing a series of artificial intelligence-generated images on social media. One of the images, in particular, has gone viral, showing Trump in a surreal and unusual setting alongside key political figures.

The widely circulated image depicts the 79-year-old relaxing shirtless in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, reclining on a gold inflatable couch while smiling and giving a thumbs-up gesture. Several prominent figures, including JD Vance, Marco Rubio, and Doug Burgum, are also seen in the water. The appearance of an unidentified woman in the image has further fuelled online speculation and curiosity.

The viral photo was part of a broader collection of 11 AI-generated images that Trump posted on his platform, Truth Social, within a span of approximately 42 minutes. Another image from the series featured his face superimposed onto Mount Rushmore, adding to the unusual nature of the posts.

While the images appear playful and unconventional, they are also being linked to an ongoing restoration project. The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is currently undergoing a $1.5 million renovation overseen by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum. The project aims to repair structural damage and refresh the site ahead of the United States’ 250th Independence Day celebrations on July 4.

In a statement, Trump said that efforts are underway to restore the historic landmark, while also criticising the previous administration for what he described as its deteriorated condition.
